What does a brand new business actually need online?
When you're just starting out, it's easy to think you need to be everywhere. You don't. In your first year, five things matter:
- A simple website that says what you do, where you work and how to contact you. Six clear pages beat thirty half-finished ones.
- A professional email address. An address like hello@yourbusiness.co.uk tells customers you're the real deal. A Gmail address can make them wonder.
- A Google Business Profile, if you serve customers locally. It's how you show up on Google Maps.
- A clear logo and colours you use everywhere: website, van, cards and social media.
- A way to collect reviews. Ask every happy customer. Nothing builds trust faster.
