Do I need a Google Business Profile?

A Google Business Profile is the box that appears on Google Maps and on the right of search results, with your opening hours, phone number and reviews. For most local businesses, it brings in more enquiries than their website.

Who can have one?

Businesses that meet customers face to face, either at your premises or by visiting them. Plumbers, cleaners, groomers and trainers usually qualify. Online-only businesses usually don't.

What do you need?

Your business name, the area you cover, your phone number, your hours and a verification step from Google, which can take a few days.

Our tip

Fill in every section, add real photos, and ask your first customers for reviews. Then reply to every review, good or bad.
